Mobile App Design

For my Final Year Project, I designed a mobile phone application for an online intermediating service. Tradesmen.ie is an interactive service that allows home owners and businesses obtain a number of quotes for jobs related to building, maintenance and repair. The design process carried out throughout the project was based on a user-centred design perspective, involving a number of stages such as identifying user requirements and testing developed prototypes, as well as completing this cycle a number of times until the right design is achieved.

Throughout the project, I employed user research and evaluation methods, as well as usability testing. I designed the user interface of the application and I developed a number of prototypes for the application. Every prototype was evaluated with potential users and the resulting feedback was used to redesign the application, which added a participatory design aspect to the project. This project involved studying users, as well as collaborating with users to produce an application that is usable, accessible and convenient to use.
